Cholamandal IP Conducted the Seminar on Growth of IPR in India

On 16 December 2017 Cholamandal IP Law Firm along with Intellectual Property Rights Attorney Association held a Seminar on ‘The Growth of IPR in India’ at Meenkashi College for Women, Chennai. The Presidential Address was delivered by Mr. P. Sanjay Gandhi, IP Attorney and Additional Government Pleader at Madras High Court, Chennai. The Inaugural Address was delivered by the Mrs. Usha Sadasivan, the Head of the English Department, Meenkashi College for Women, Chennai. The seminar saw young Law Students working with Cholamandal IP as speakers. The Law Students came from various Law schools and colleges throughout India such as Symbiosis Law School (NOIDA), Jindal Global Law School (Sonepat), Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda (Faculty of Law), Rajiv Gandhi School of Intellectual Property Law (IIT Kharagpur), among others. Topics discussed ranged from commercialisation of traditional knowledge, copyright infringement in works of literary fiction, copyright and musical work, to trade secrets, the Protection of Plant Varieties and Farmers Rights Act, 2001, among various other topics relevant to the field of Intellectual Property Law in India. The Seminar was highly commended and praised by those present as well as by the Host College. It was a successful effort on the part of Cholamandal IP and the Intellectual Property Rights Attorney Association to raise awareness about Intellectual Property Laws in India.
